چکیده
Recently, quantitative risk assessment (QRA) has been widely used as a decision-making tool in the offshore industry. This study focused on analyzing dropped objects design of modern platform. A modified QRA procedure was developed for assessing production module protection against accidental external loads. Frequency and consequence analyses were performed using procedure. An exceedance curve plotted, high-risk management item derived through this process. In particular, simulations experiments to verify difference between potential impact energies according drop orientation. When object specific orientation, energy confirmed be up 4.7 times greater than energy. To reflect results structural design, proposed should calculate maximum The provides step-by-step guide assess damage capacity area well frequency consequences.

Determination of the Optimal Operating Condition of the Dual Mixed Refrigerant Cycle at the Pre-FEED stage of the LNG FPSO Topside Liquefaction Process
The dual mixed refrigerant (DMR) cycle, which pre-cools natural gas with the mixed refrigerants and then liquefies the natural gas with another set of mixed refrigerants, is well known for having the highest efficiency among the liquefaction cycles. Its possible application to LNG FPSO is also extensively investigated. In this study, the optimal operating conditions, such as the equipment’s flo...
متن کاملLng Accident Dynamic Simulation: Application for Hazardous Consequence Reduction
The definition of hazard area, centered inside the LNG stations, is essential for risk assessment in LNG industry. In this study, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations have been conducted for the two main LNG hazards, LNG flammable vapor dispersion and LNG pool fire radiation, to determine the hazard exclusion area. The spatial and temporal distribution of hazard in complex spill scena...
متن کاملIntegrated engineering environment for the process FEED of offshore oil and gas production plants
In this paper, an offshore process front end engineering design (FEED) method is systematically introduced and reviewed to enable efficient offshore oil and gas production plant engineering. An integrated process engineering environment is also presented for the topside systems of a liquefied natural gas floating production, storage, and offloading (LNG FPSO) unit, based on the concepts and pro...
متن کاملAn Algorithm for the Probabilistic Risk Calculation of Dropped Objects: Application of the Pipeline Protection System of Offshore Platforms
Dropped objects from cranes are one of the most hazardous events during the operation of the topside of offshore plants along with hydrocarbon gas explosion and fire. Although it is strongly suggested by international rules and regulations to evaluate probabilistic impact risk from dropped objects in the offshore industry, most engineers have had difficulties in estimating a reliable risk value...
متن کاملLNG Shipping: a Descriptive Analysis
At present, throughout the world LNG investments are abounding. In particular, the US and the EU are trying to facilitate their security of natural gas supply. For this reason, LNG enables importers to extend their gas suppliers’ portfolio, considering that some producing countries can be reached only via sea transport. LNG will thus increase importers’ choice; at the same time it can widen the...
